Founders

  • Founder Wolf Bierens is a Dutch entrepreneurial engineer with a background in environmental technology and sustainable building. He was listed on the Forbes 30 Under 30 in 2017 and twice on the Sustainable Young 100 (DJ100) in The Netherlands, in 2016 and 2020.

  • Niels van den Berge is an expert on international development, climate and water, and has a background in sustainable forestry. He has worked with NGOs and governments on projects concerning water and sanitation. In addition, Niels has extensive experience in coaching and supporting sustainable enterprises in developing countries.

Sales & Marketing

  • With over 16 years of experience, Charlotte is an expert in the sales and marketing field. She’s excited to join Easy Housing for her next adventure after her time with reputable organisations such as Knight Frank, Eco Bank and Multi Choice.

Corry Kobutiiti

  • Brian is a forest technician who holds a national diploma in Forestry from Nyabyeya Forestry College in Uganda. His impressive track record includes spearheading the forestry protection department at the Nyabyeya Central Forestry Reserve, and training at the Tree Grower’s Nursery in Kiboga.

  • Moses is a climate justice activist and environmentalist with a bachelors degree in Business Administration. He has a background in web and graphic design, and he is passionate about sustainable development, sustainable tourism, and sustainable travel.

Architecture & Engineering

  • Marlene Salia has a bachelor degree in Architecture and Physical Planning from Eduardo Mondlane University in Mozambique. She’s passionate about reducing the housing crisis in Mozambique and the rest of the African continent by designing affordable and accessible housing that is part of a circular economy.

  • Zani has worked in design and construction projects across East Africa, delivering social impact projects with a special focus on natural materials. She holds a Masters in Advanced Ecological Buildings and Biocities and is a Techwomen fellow who is passionate about improving the lives of women in STEM.

  • Ann has a bachelor's degree in Environmental Design from Uganda Martyrs University and is currently completing her Masters in Architecture. She has great interest in sustainable architecture and interiors, and has experience working in Interior and architecture design firms in Uganda. Ann is the Architecture team lead in Uganda.

  • Lucy has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Makerere University. With experience in renewable energy and hands-on solar training, she looks forward to contributing to eco-friendly home construction using sustainable timber, aligning with her goal of combating climate change.

  • Aaron holds a bachelor's degree in Architecture from the International University of East Africa. With a strong passion for community-focused projects and sustainable architecture, he brings experience from both construction companies and architectural firms in Uganda. He is now joining the Easy Housing team as an architecture intern.

  • Alberto Cumerlato is a licensed architect in Italy and a registered member of OAPPC Venezia. He has worked for many renowned offices and organisations in Europe, Africa, and the Americas. Besides his other global projects, Alberto is functioning as an advisor regarding architecture and design.

Construction & Project Management

  • Brian is an architectural technician and a green building and sustainability advocate from Uganda. He holds a diploma in Architecture from Kyambogo University and has attended several Green Building and Smart Farming training programmes/courses. He manages the Easy Housing projects in Uganda.

  • Gorret is a Civil Engineer, recently graduated from the International University of East Africa. She has experience in surveying, Autocad, Archicad, and building construction. For Easy Housing, she will be helping with the construction of upcoming projects.

  • Evaline Alum is a civil engineer and a climate activist with a strong passion for writing. She has recently graudated her Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering at the International University of East Africa. She is eager to expand her knowledge and provide dedicated support to the Easy Housing construction team.

  • Maxwel is a Design-Build Specialist, specializing in construction, with a focus on sustainability and functionality. He has joined the team as project manager. He holds a diploma in Arts and Design, and Human-Centered Design. He has a proven track record of creating solutions for community development, including projects to combat malnutrition in refugee communities.

  • Rawlings has a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Makerere University. He is passionate about innovation and sustainability, and he is eager to use his engineering skills to create more climate resilience and sustainable housing in Africa. He has joined Easy Housing as project management intern.

  • Doreen has a Bachelor's degree in Architecture at Makerere University. She has over four years of experience in the construction industry as architect and construction manager. As part of Easy Housing, she is eager to be out in the field and explore new construction techniques.

  • Aguer is currently pursuing a bachelors in Civil Engineering at the International University of East Africa. As Junior Project Manager, he is eager to combine his technical knowledge and leadership skills to drive positive impact.

  • Tabith has a Bachelor of science in civil Engineering at the international university of East Africa. She has several years of experience in civil work, including road and building construction, surveying and tools like ArchiCad. Currently, she is working at Easy Housing as Project Management Intern.

  • Ivan is a civil Engineer with a bachelor's in civil and building Engineering from Kyambogo University and 2.5 years of working experience. At Easy Housing, Ivan is part of the Project Management team, working on the timely construction and ensuring the quality of our homes.

Business Development & Support

  • Jane has a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance from Kyambogo University, and several years of working experience. As front office manager at Easy Housing, she is dedicated to providing exceptional customer service and administration support. Her goal is to create a welcoming environment to visitors and efficiently handle inquiries, appointments, and clerical tasks.

  • Kim has done a bachelor in International Development Studies at Wageningen University in the Netherlands, and a masters in Science for Sustainable Development at Linköping University in Sweden. She started as an intern, but is now working fulltime as Junior Business Developer.

  • Stellah holds a Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences from Makerere University and a Certificate in Administrative Officers Law from the Law Development Centre. With experience in office administration, human resources, and field marketing, she supports both sales and admin at Easy Housing.

  • Mich is pursuing a Master’s degree in International Business and Sustainability at Sciences Po Paris. With experience at organizations like UN Habitat and CAHF, she has a strong background in impact measurement and sustainable affordable housing. As an intern at Easy Housing, Mich is excited to contribute to impact monitoring and Kenya market development.

Advisory Board

  • Etta Madete Mukuba is a licensed architect, housing developer, sustainable development expert and researcher passionate about sustainable, affordable, and gender-inclusive housing solutions in Africa. She has both local and international experience in all portions of the housing development life-cycle, and is the founding director of Zima Homes, an award-winning Kenyan housing development company.

  • Roy Githaiga is an award-nominated certified Graduate Master of Architecture with extensive experience in sustainable design, urban planning, and affordable housing. With a diverse background spanning local and international projects, he is passionate about culture-centred design, nature-based solutions, alternative building technologies, resilience mapping, and sustainability across sectors.

  • Robert van Kats has over 20 years of experience in architecture, engineering and supervising climate friendly building projects in Europe and Africa. Recently, he founded Studio Akēka, an international architecture studio focused on eco-friendly design. Robert is especially interested in the intersection of local cultures and modern societies, eco-friendly technologies and natural materials.
